The 2008 winners were:

A. Chesapeake Energy Corp. Total salaries paid to its five named executives were $136.3 million.

B. The highest paid CEO in 2008 was Aubrey McClendon of Chesapeake Energy.

C. The highest paid women CEO was Patricia Woertz of ADM, $17.5 million

There were fifteen women CEOs of Fortune 500 companies compared to 12 the year before. Only two of the companies run by these women had 2008 losses. We should expect to see more women CEOs down the road as they have proved that they can do the job.
